BioShock Infinite has restored my faith in video games. In a time when always online DRM and micro transactions rule, it is a shining example for many aspiring games. BioShock Infinite executes its goals so perfectly and flawlessly you will find yourself unaware of the fact that you are playing a video game.

Ken Levine is a champion of this medium and, twice now, he has profoundly changed the way we view and discuss plot in video games. He understands the interactive component of the medium so well, his incorporation of it into his stories is foremost in his telling, and are deft to say the least.

An excerpt from the article -
Wow was the first word I said to myself when Bioshock Infinite was finished. I then proceeded to put the controller down and think. I thought about the ending, I thought about the characters, and I thought about what the game taught me about society, the dangers of Religious Fundamentalism, and the lengths a person would go through to absolve their sins. The real surprising thing is once I put the controller down I actually thought in depth about a games story. I couldnt remember the last time I did that. Oh wait, it was when I finished playing the original Bioshock.

Every few years a game will come along that leaves you breathless: a title so incredible that it leaves you desperately searching for how to describe it in a manner that does it justice. BioShock Infinite is such a game. In fact describing it as a "game" is unfair, it is more of an experience as it immerses you in one of the richest and most vibrant locations ever seen. Quite simply you must experience BioShock Infinite.

Michael Engle: Bioshock Infinite is one of the defining games of this generation. Not only does it surpass all other Irrational Games' titles to date, it stands alone as an achievement in storytelling, engaging environments, and, above all else, fun gameplay. In a world where Skylines, Vigor, and heavy artillery are your best friends, Columbia is a living, breathing, utopian roller coaster ride that will leave your jaw on the floor for fifteen hours. From its opening moments to its mind-bending conclusion, after you get blasted over the rainbow, you will never want to go back. We're not in Rapture anymore.

If Ebert is ever to be silenced on the 'games cannot be art' front, this is the silver bullet to do so.

Overall the game is beautiful and the story is very engaging. The characters are really well done. The ending will leave you speechless and can be very confusing, but I was very satisfied with my expereince and am looking forward to a second playthrough.
